Fuel Cell

Our custom designed fuel cell systems produce electricity through a clean, efficient process without combustion. The hybrid systems receive energy from a solar, or wind source, converts the energy into a hydrogen-rich stream, and then combines it with oxygen from the air in a chemical reaction that produces electric power.

Solar Energy

Solar arrays are used to harness this source of energy to electrolyze our fuel cell systems. Solar energy technologies can provide electrical generation by heat engine or photovoltaics.

Wind Energy

As with solar, wind energy can be used to electrolyze our fuel cell systems which in turn converts to electricity in a clean more efficient energy source.

Fuel Cell Energy

Fifty years ago, the US put the first man on the moon. The Apollo 11 mission relied on a hydrogen-powered fuel cell system, which supplied electricity and water for the mission, and on liquid hydrogen as fuel to propel the rockets. Since 1969, America has remained a leader in fuel cell and hydrogen technology.

Who Uses Fuel Cells?

Target has two retail stores using fuel cell power generation.

Fortune 500 Companies Operating Fuel Cells

Fuel cells are in operation at:

 • Government and Office buildings

• Wastewater treatment plants

• Communications networks and cell towers

 • Railroad and Traffic signals

 • Transit Agencies

 • Hospitals • Data centers

 • Retail sites • Grocery stores

 • Universities

• Warehouses and distribution center

Cities and state agencies are starting to configure fuel cells into microgrids to ensure reliable, efficient power to citizens, as well as to critical outlets such as fire, police and emergency medical services (EMS) in the case of weather-related or other unexpected outages.

Fuel cells can power diverse portable applications, serving as a charger for cell phones; powering lighting towers, sensors, surveillance equipment, oil and gas pipeline equipment, and rail-side signaling; delivering power to soldiers in the field; and supplying power for aircraft, marine, and recreational vehicle applications.

Fuel Cell Advantages

  •  Potential Savings-  high energy efficiency and on-site location allows customers to obtain electricity at or below commercial  grid rates in many regions.
  • Better Reliability-  As a result, it will not be as susceptible to weather-related or capacity-driven outages, which are inherent problems for traditional central generation and/or transmission and distribution systems.
  • Higher Efficiency- solar and wind convert energy directly into electricity through an on-site chemical reaction. By contrast, a typical central generation combustion process requires a series of steps, each of which results in energy losses. As a result, fuel cell-based systems can deliver electricity to a home or business more efficiently than the grid.
  • Co-Generation Potential- fuel cell systems produce heat as a by-product. We can modify systems to use that excess heat to supplement traditional hot water and space heating systems, thereby significantly increasing total system efficiency and providing expected cost savings for consumers.
